There are several reasons 400 meter athletes struggle to meet their attainable goal and/or perform at their highest potential. Some of the major issues we identified are:
One of the strategies we use to aide our athletes to overcome their race discrepancies; is “Tempo Endurance Training”.
“Tempo Endurance Training” helps athletes to learn the rhythm of the race. Once the athlete is able to master the race rhythm; they are more effective distributing their speed and energy throughout the distance of the race.
We have only named two of the struggles. However, the easiest way for an athlete to overcome these challenges; they must first have a better mind set on how to run the 400 meters. The athlete can condition his or her mind effectively by visualizing the process and “Tempo” of the race; and implement those visualization, so the event may be manifested in to reality.
